Lori R., Volunteer cat socializer, ccstca

The AdoptMeApp was launched at our shelter in March 2016. We have had an overwhelming positive response from the staff, volunteers, and potential adopters. Potential adopters are able to see more photos and videos of the adoptable animals — many have stated that they came to adopt based on these photos/videos. AdoptMeApp has improved people’s lives by assisting them in selecting a companion animal. The standard intake photos of the shelter animals often show scared pets; not at their best. Using AdoptMeApp, volunteers & staff are able to take photos of these homeless pets when they are more acclimated to being in the shelter & are more relaxed, comfortable & confident. AdoptMeApp enables potential adopters to see more of the true personality of the pet, & what s/he would be like in a home environment.

AdoptMeApp is universally accessible, both as a tool and the output, to people of all backgrounds & social economic levels. The app helps build the bridge between animal loving humans in all walks of life & enables the human/companion animal connection to occur.

I have held several drawing events at the shelter — attended by kids and adults. My postings of them and their drawings are some of my favorites.

I use AdoptMeApp because it is one of the most direct ways to let the dogs (cats, birds, lizards) connect with a human and for the human to really see the animal.  When you really see an animal, you are a goner.

I use AdoptMeApp for a variety of reasons but primarily to post for dogs I am fostering & to post adopted, transferred and update photos and information (see EverAfter for the latter).
